Jennifer Miller, PhD, MSNEd, RN
Assistant Professor
Jennifer Miller received her undergraduate degrees in nursing at Midway College (ADN) and the University of Kentucky (BSN). She received her master’s degree in nursing education at Indiana Wesleyan University and her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Kentucky. The focus of her doctoral studies was the role of social determinants of cardiovascular disease, health, and wellness in vulnerable populations.
Dr. Miller is an assistant professor, teaching research design in the PhD program. She is a member of the RICH Heart Research Program, a collaborative group of investigators with multiple NIH and PCORI funded projects. She has served as a project director and co-investigator on several multi-site and international studies. Dr. Miller’s current funded work focuses on health communication, risk assessment, and decision-making in the context of interpersonal relationships and improving quality of life for those with or at risk for cardiovascular disease throughout the life-course. She is a past recipient of the Saha Award for Cardiovascular Research and Education.
