Her practice experience in Primary Care began with Lexington Clinic as the first nurse practitioner in a multispecialty clinic.  After leaving Lexington Clinic, she began a ten-year partnership interest in Primary Care Associates, a family practice clinic.  Most recently her practice has been with CHI–St. Joseph Medical Group as a FNP and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Leader.

In 2001, she was honored as the Kentucky Nurse Practitioner of the Year.  Additionally, she continues to participate on the CHI-Health Partners Board of Directors and, at the national level, on the Advanced Practice Leadership Council where she served as co-chair for the initial four years of the council.  She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and was inducted as a Fellow in 2015.   In other leadership efforts, she was appointed by the Governor of Kentucky as a Member of three significant policy venues: the KASPER Task Force representing APRNs in the state, a member of the HB 1 Task Force and a seat on the Controlled Substance Formulary Committee with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
