Dr. Kimberly Thompson, DNP, RN, AMB-BC

Kimberly Thompson has been in the health care industry for over 20 years. She has 10 years of experience working at UK Healthcare specializing in pediatric clinical care and leadership. She has spent the last 3 years as a Nursing Director at Baptist Health Lexington in the Neonatal ICU. She earned her Associate Degree of Nursing at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, where she was nominated nursing class president and received the BCTC nursing leadership award. She obtained her BSN in 2019 from Chamberlain University and her MSN in 2020 from Chamberlain University. She received honors for her academic performance for both her BSN and MSN programs. She graduated from the University of Kentucky's Executive Leadership Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program in May of 2025, where she was awarded the Sebastian Stanhope Award. She is board certified by the ANCC in Ambulatory Care Nursing and is an active member of KONL and AONL. In 2022, Kimberly was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She also serves as the March of Dimes Chair for the Signature Chefs Auction in Lexington. When she is not working and volunteering in the community, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, working out, and reading.
