Dr. Suzie Pilon has over 20 years of acute care nursing experience. She earned her ADN at Western Wisconsin Technical College in 2000 and a BSN from Murray State University in 2004 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Pilon graduated in 2016 with a DNP from the University of Kentucky as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult/Gerontology where she focused on Palliative Care and Fall Prevention in the Older Adult. Dr. Pilon joined the College of Nursing in 2012 as a teaching assistant and became full time faculty January 2016. Dr. Pilon teaches Skills Lab in the undergraduate program courses NUR 225 & NUR 227. She also lectures in the NUR 101 pre-nursing student course and NUR 518 a cognate focused on self-care. She is active with many organizations including the CON Work-Life & Student Wellness Council where the primary concern is to make the College of Nursing a welcoming and safe place to work and learn. Dr. Pilon is also active in mentoring students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and volunteers to help support individuals in recovery of substance use disorder.
