Few life events are more joyful than the birth of a child. Yet, no one anticipates a baby born prematurely or very sick and needing to spend time in a newborn intensive care unit. Sadly, for hundreds of thousands of moms in our country, that is the frightening reality.

That’s why the UK College of Nursing Perinatal Research Center Team is raising money for March for Babies® to help the March of Dimes fund lifesaving research and programs that help more moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.

Please join this team here to help us reach our goal of $5,000.

Join the College of Nursing team and make a personal, online donation (minimum $10) by midnight Tuesday (4/18/17) to be entered for a chance to win a Wildcat Warehouse giftcard or a vintage March of Dimes t-shirt!

Getting started is easy. Just go here and click “join this team” and check out our fundraising.

You are also welcome to join the Center at Keeneland on May 21, 2017 for the March for Babies. More information can be found here. While the Center would love for you to participate, you don’t have to attend the walk in order to become a member of the team.

The mission of the UK Perinatal Research and Wellness Center in the College of Nursing is to improve maternal and infant health among vulnerable populations, through translational research and innovative programs. The Center’s purpose is multifaceted and includes using translational research to inform women, providers, and policymakers about current perinatal issues; empowering women to optimize health through positive behavioral change; and creating and tailoring innovative programs for vulnerable families to improve maternal and child health, all while developing the next generation of perinatal researchers.
