Alumni Spotlight: Lauren Cole Brown, BSN, RN (Class of December 2007) Nurse Content & Graphic Design Specialist for Archer Review

At the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, students are prepared not only for the bedside, but for the many directions a nursing career can take. For alumna Lauren Brown, BSN, RN, that preparation carried her from cardiac nursing and eight years in the catherization laboratory (cath-lab) through burnout, a career pivot, and ultimately back to nursing in a new and unexpected way. Today, she combines the clinical foundation she built at UK with creative design skills to shape the future of nursing education — proving that a UK nursing degree is a lifelong gateway to possibility.

A new, larger skills lab is helping the University of Kentucky’s College of Nursing more effectively train future nurses in the patient-centered skills key to their profession. 

Academic Advisor Dylan Bogard Presents at Regional NACADA Advising Conference

Academic Advisors Dylan Bogard, UK College of Nursing, and Jennifer Branscum, College of Arts and Sciences, presented at this year's National Academic Advising Association’s (NACADA) Regional Conference. Their presentation was titled, "It's the End of the World! Now What?"  Both Bogard and Branscum, as well as College of Nursing Academic Advisor Hadley Sensing, were selected to present at NACADA's National Conference in the fall.

Witnessing his older sister’s battle with spina bifida left an indelible mark on Nathan Reynolds. Countless hospital visits and surgeries shaped his childhood, sparking a deep desire to help ease the suffering of others. This compassion, combined with the steadfast dedication he saw in his mother, a nurse, inspired Reynolds to pursue a remarkable journey toward his own career in nursing.
