National Cancer Prevention Day with Less Cancer
UK College of Nursing Dean and Warwick Professor of Nursing Janie Heath, PhD, APRN-BC, FAAN, traveled to Washington D.C. on Thursday, Feb. 2 for National Cancer Prevention Day where she participated in discussions, lectures and a town hall meeting and spoke on behalf of Less Cancer–the campaign that works to keep prevention in the forefront of the cancer conversation.
National Cancer Prevention Day is a resolution introduced by Representative Steve Israel that highlights nonprofit Less Cancer’s efforts to bring attention to cancer prevention. Created by the Next Generation Choices Foundation in 2004, Less Cancer educates citizens about behavioral and environmental risks linked to cancer and continually finds new opportunities to reach individuals and communities.
The conference took place in the Rayburn House Office Building. For a full list of speakers and participants, click here.
