Amanda started her career in nursing in 2008 after graduating from Midway college with her ADN. She then got her BSN from UK in 2011. She worked at UKHC as an RN for 9 years in the Trauma ICU and as a research coordinator for general surgery. She graduated with her MSN in 2018 from EKU, after which she worked as an urgent care NP and pediatric primary care NP. She started teaching clinicals in 2020 at UK where she realized her joy for teaching. She has taught in the undergraduate program teaching med/surg 1, 2, and 3 clinicals. She is now a full time lab instructor and clinical instructor. Amanda was born and raised in Lexington, KY where she lives with her her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and going to bluegrass concerts. Amanda has grown up on UKs campus as her father worked in the physical plant department for 25yrs. She bleeds blue and loves teaching at UK.
