Angela Hensley, DNP, FNP, PMHNP
Assistant Professor and Coordinator for the RN to BSN Track
Dr. Angie Hensley earned her BSN from Eastern Kentucky University, her MSN from the University of Kentucky, her DNP from the University of Cincinnati, and a Post-Doctorate certificate in psychiatric-mental health nursing from the University of Kentucky. She is a board-certified family and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Dr. Hensley’s clinical background includes a decade of ICU experience at UK HealthCare, as well as prior roles as a liver transplant nurse practitioner at the University of Cincinnati and a hepatology nurse practitioner specializing in Hepatitis C at the UK GI Clinic.
Dr. Hensley is currently an assistant professor and serves as the RN-BSN track coordinator at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. She teaches across multiple courses in the RN-BSN program and is actively involved in curriculum development and student support. Dr. Hensley has received several internal and external grants, including recent awards from Sigma Theta Tau and the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
Dr. Hensley’s research focuses on student engagement and satisfaction in online nursing education. Her scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences. She is the principal investigator for multiple funded studies supporting RN-BSN student development and chronic illness self-management among vulnerable populations.
