Brooke Kuns-Adkins graduated from the second-degree RN to MSN program at Vanderbilt University in 2009. She then worked as a nurse practitioner in primary care, hepatology, and cardiology where she continues to serve. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2019 with a PhD in Nursing.

Her research has focused on predictors of linkage to hepatitis C care and the treatment of hepatitis C among rural-dwelling people who inject drugs (both former and current).

She is an instructor at the University of Kentucky, College of Nursing. Her goals are to contribute to the education of future nurses, nurse practitioners, and nurse scientists and continue her research efforts.
