Human Resources & Faculty Coordinator

Cynthia Fentress is the Director of Human Resources and Faculty Affairs at the UK College of Nursing.  In this role, Cynthia supports the faculty and staff life cycle.  Her role includes oversight of faculty  promotion, appointment, tenure, onboarding, adherence to compliance regulations and policy.  Her role also includes all human resource related actions including onboarding, job description development, promotions, retirement, and leave requests.  Before her tenure at the College of Nursing, Cynthia gained valuable experience during her seven years in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, Cynthia worked for 19-years and obtained an extensive legal background, which has provided her with a unique perspective and skill set that she continues to leverage in her current role.  Cynthia earned her Master of Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, complementing her solid foundation in the legal field with a Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Science from the same institution.  Cynthia is committed to fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting faculty and staff development.
