Debra Hampton, PhD, MSN, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, CENP
Assistant Dean of MSN & DNP Program Studies, Coordinator Graduate Leadership Programs and Associate Professor
Debra Hampton received her MSN and PhD in nursing from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Dr. Hampton is an experienced nursing leader, having served as a first line manager, middle manager, chief nursing officer, and as a senior executive (CAO/System Site CEO). She began working part time at the UK CON in 1996 and developed and taught various courses for the College’s undergraduate, master’s and DNP programs. Dr. Hampton currently is a full time Associate Professor in the DNP Program and teaches courses in finance, leadership and others. Dr. Hampton is the Assistant Dean/Program Director for the MSN and DNP programs and the Coordinator of the Graduate Leadership Programs (MSN Leadership, BSN Executive Leadership and MSN-DNP Clinical & Executive Leadership). Dr. Hampton has also worked as a full-time assistant professor in the online graduate program at Loyola University New Orleans and part time as an adjunct assistant professor in the online RN-to-BSN Program at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. Hampton has Advanced, Nurse Executive certification through ANCC and AONE and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dr. Hampton's research and publication/presentation interests include leadership, engagement, empowerment, incivility, online learning, and work/generation values.
