Eva Stone, DNP, APRN-BC

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Selected as the 2019 Kentucky Nurse Association Nurse of the Year and named a 2020 Louisville Business First Health Care Hero, Eva Stone is the Manager of District Health for Jefferson County Public Schools and is an adjunct assistant professor with the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. She has worked in public school health for 20 years where she has experience supervising nursing as well as other student support programs. She has successfully advocated for Kentucky to amend the state Medicaid plan to allow for expanded billing for school health services to help increase access to care for children. Eva earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from West Virginia University & her master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Kentucky. She is passionate about the need to address health to ensure students are ready to learn and to increase educational outcomes for children as a measure to improve their long-term health.
