Kaitlin Voigts Key, PhD, RN

Kaitlin Voigts Key received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from the University College of Nursing in 2015. After receiving her BSN, she worked in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at UKHealthcare. She received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Kentucky in 2020, and was a Center for Clinical and Translational Science DREAM (Disparities Researchers Equalizing Access for Minorities) Scholar. She also received the College of Nursing Alumni Association PhD Award, and was a finalist for the Martha N. Hill New Investigator Award from the American Heart Association. Dr. Key’s research focuses on examining environmental stressors and genetic factors associated with cardiovascular disease risk. Dr. Key is an active member in the American Heart Association, the International Society for Nurses in Genetics, the American Nurses Association, and the Kentucky Nurses Association.

At present, Dr. Key is a lecturer in the ABSN program. She teaches Health Promotion, Pathopharmacology, and Public and Community Health Nursing.
