Whitney Kurtz-Ogilvie, MFA
Senior Lecturer and Academic Writing Specialist
Whitney Kurtz-Ogilvie joined the College in 2010 as our new academic writing specialist. She holds a BA in English from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her teaching background is in writing (creative, technical and academic) and public speaking. She is interested in the ways in which writing and public speaking relate, and recently gave a presentation on incorporating public speaking into the writing classroom. Whitney has taught writing for 11 years, in Maryland, North Carolina, Illinois and Kentucky. She also works as a freelance writer and editor. She is interested in creative as well as scholarly writing, and is currently working on her first novel.
