College of Nursing Participates in 33rd Annual SNRS Conference

  The University of Kentucky College of Nursing participated in the 33rd annual conference hosted by the Southern Nursing Research Society in Orlando, Florida, February 27-March 1.  This year's conference theme was "Imagining the Future Through Nursing Research and Innovations."

College of Nursing Attends AACN Doctoral Education Conference

  College of Nursing faculty attended the American association of Colleges of Nursing Doctoral Education Conference on Thursday, January 17 and Friday, January 18.  AACN’s Doctoral Education Conference brings together faculty, deans and other academic leaders to explore issues and share successful strategies related to doctoral nursing education. The conference program offers participants dedicated time to visit the Learning Center and to engage with our vendors. 

College of Nursing Attends KNA's 2018 Annual Conference

  Students and faculty recently attended the Kentucky Nurses Associate 2018 Annual Conference in Louisville, KY, on Thursday, Nov. 1. Annual KCSP Conference Honors Smoke-free Advocates Across Kentucky

  The Kentucky Center for Smoke-free Policy (KCSP) and their community partners celebrated fifteen years of smoke-free stories across the Commonwealth during its annual conference, "Sharing the Smoke-free Story" on Wednesday, April 11, at the Lexington Convention Center.

BSN & DNP Students Join Dean Heath at Annual AACN Health Policy Summit on Capitol Hill

UK College of Nursing BSN student Alli Overfield and DNP student Eva Stone joined Dr. Janie Heath, dean and Warwick Professor of Nursing, at the annual American Association of Colleges of Nursing Health Policy Summit on Capitol Hill, March 25-27. They joined other Kentucky deans and students to advocate for funding for nursing education and research to impact health and wellness in vulnerable populations.

BREATHE Will Participate in the 17th World Conference on Tobacco or Health

  The College of Nursing's BREATHE team will participate in the 17th World Conference on Tobacco or Health (WCTOH) through a televised program about their major tobacco control and health activities with research, community engagement and empowerment, advocacy at the local and state levels and access to health services.

  Supporters of a higher cigarette tax in Kentucky, including members of the College of Nursing BREATHE (Bridging Research Efforts and Advocacy Toward Health Environments) Team, rallied at the State Capitol in Frankfort on Thursday, February 8.

Smoke-free Advocacy Across Kentucky Honored at 10th Annual KCSP Conference

  The Kentucky Center for Smoke-free Policy(KCSP) celebrated 10 years of partnering with communities across the Commonwealth to advocate for smoke-free policies during its annual conference, “Smoke-free Partnerships: Past. Present. Future.” on Tuesday, April 18.

UK College of Nursing Welcomes Back Colonel Marla De Jong for Second Annual Nursing Leadership Lecture Series

  A 2005 PhD graduate from the UK College of Nursing, Colonel Marla De Jong, PhD, RN, CCNS, FAAN, will be the first of three prestigious speakers to present at this year’s annual Nursing Leadership Lectureship Series. Her presentation, “Advancing Nursing Science through Leadership and Knowledge,” will take place on Thurs., Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. in the UK Hospital Pavilion A auditorium.
