Writing Support for Graduate Students
About
Whitney Kurtz-Ogilvie, lecturer and academic writing specialist for the College of Nursing graduate programs, assists students with writing through a variety of programs and resources. She is available for one-on-one consultations to help students deepen their critical thinking skills, develop effective revision strategies, improve their sentence structure and more. Whitney also offers in-class workshops, such as “Keys to a Successful Paper” and “Constructive Peer Review,” at the invitation of the instructor. Occasionally, she offers brown-bag workshops outside of class for students and faculty members.
Whitney also works with faculty members to help them incorporate writing and critical thinking practice into their coursework, improve feedback on student writing, create assignments that help facilitate better writing skills and develop rubrics for course papers.
Whitney also maintains a blog called “Whitney’s Writing Tips" that can be accessed here.
