Graduate Nursing Activities and Advisory Council (GNAAC)
About
The Graduate Nursing Activities and Advisory Council (GNAAC) serves as a liaison between students and administration, faculty and staff, provides graduate student input regarding important topics and provides free training on EndNote, Digication and other technologies.
Functions
- To foster communication
- To make recommendations to the dean regarding:
- Student conduct, problems and concerns, via hearing committee
- Evaluation of courses, programs and teaching
- Proposed appointment and promotion of faculty members
- Evaluation of graduate student body activities
GNAAC also plans and implements programs of interest for graduate nursing students, such as:
- Scholarship opportunities
- Support systems
- Community service

Membership
All graduate students enrolled in the College of Nursing are GNAAC members, are welcome to attend all meetings and pay no dues. The GNAAC executive board is elected by the graduate student body. Officers are elected from the executive board by the executive board. The University of Kentucky is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, giving all graduate students enrolled in the College of Nursing access to resources through the Graduate Nursing Student Academy. Among the resources offered by GNSA are leadership opportunities, webinars and networking.
