The College of Nursing held its first annual Circle of Remembrance Gathering to recognize those held in our thoughts and prayers this past academic year on Thursday, May 10, in the new Cultivating Practices for Resilience (CPR) room.

The gathering, sponsored by Lee Anne Walmsley, PhD, MSN, RN, instructor and second-degree track coordinator, as well as the Work-Life Council, included faculty, staff and students in the College. Those in attendance were able to write the names of those in their thoughts on a paper heart to hang on the compassion trees in the room.

"This was our time to come together and reflect on the lives of others that may have suffered a significant illness or injury or even loss of life, or simply those we have in our thoughts," says Dr. Walmsley. UK HealthCare's Joe Alverson, M.Div., BCC, also provided remarks before a moment of silence.
