
College of Nursing Students Receive Lyman T. Johnson Torch of Excellence, Torch Bearer Awards
The University of Kentucky Alumni Association’s Lyman T. Johnson Constituency Group awarded undergraduate nursing student Mia Jackson and DNP student Joy Coles, BSN, RN, the Torch Bearer and Torch of Excellence Awards at its 27thAnnual Homecoming Awards Celebration at the UK Alumni House.
The event recognizes deserving African American alumni, faculty, staff and students who exemplify the passion and courage exhibited by Lyman T. Johnson as he led the racial desegregation efforts at UK more than 60 years ago.
