College of Nursing Students, Veterans Nursing Council Collect More Than 75,000 Caps for Lady Veterans Connect

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing Veterans Nursing Council and students in Dr. Lexie Dampier's NUR 201 class collected more than 75,000 bottle caps for Lady Veterans Connect, a non-profit organization in Lexington, Kentucky, which aims to end homelessness for lady veterans. The caps will be recycled into chairs for the Lady Veterans' homes. 

According to the organization, "since opening the Thurman-Abbott Transitional Home for Lady Veterans on 1 July 2016, not one night has gone by without a bed being used by a Lady Veteran in need."
