Dr. Camille Burnett talks domestic violence risks during COVID-19 on SEE YOU NOW podcast
With widespread isolation orders across the country, people are spending more prolonged periods of time inside their homes. But what happens when those home environments are not safe?
In Johnson & Johnson Nursing's recent SEE YOU NOW podcast, UK College of Nursing's Dr. Camille Burnett recently discussed the risks of increased incidents of domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic. She talks about how nurses are in a unique position in their communities to screen, access, intervene, and meet people where they are—particularly responding to intimate partner violence.
Even in the middle of a pandemic, nurses and neighbors are looking out for one another and finding ways to make sure people are physically and emotionally protected.
