Trisha Khaleghi, MSN, RN, FACHE, CEO of Sharp Specialty Hospitals and alum of the College of Nursing, delivered her presentation, "Addressing Workplace Violence: Nursing Leadership in Action" as part of the Nursing Leadership Lecture Series on Thursday, September 5.

Khaleghi is the senior vice president and chief executive officer of Sharp Specialty Hospitals, which includes Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & NewbornsSharp Mesa Vista Hospital and Sharp McDonald Center.

Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is the largest and most extensive freestanding center for women's health in Southern California, offering a variety of alternatives for the birthing experience and obstetrical care.

Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital is the largest provider of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services in San Diego for patients of all ages, from children to seniors. A residential facility for chemical dependency recovery services is located at Sharp McDonald Center.

Prior to her current role, Khaleghi was the vice president of clinical services at Sharp Memorial Hospital, which included surgery, pharmacy, radiology, outpatient pavilion, cardiology, transplant and oncology service lines. She was responsible for more than 800 full-time employees in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and for overall fiscal and quality outcomes for each of these departments. Khaleghi has been a Sharp employee since 1991.

She earned her bachelor's of science in nursing and master's of science in nursing from the University of Kentucky.
