UK College of Nursing Hosts 2021-22 Nursing Leadership Lecture Series

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing and UK HealthCare are proud to announce the lineup for their 2021-2022 Nursing Leadership Lecture series.  This year's series features some of the nation's most highly accomplished nurse leaders who will be discussing different topics related to healthcare and leadership. Specific titles for each lecture will be announced closer to the date of each event. 

'Yellow Tulips' author Helen Joy George speaks at annual CON retreat

  Yellow Tulips author Helen Joy George was the featured guest speaker for the College of Nursing's annual staff and faculty retreat, held virtually Aug. 7.  George spoke about her book, a memoir of her journey coping with bipolar disorder through an unusual childhood, a mental breakdown at age 31 and how she fought for a year to stay alive in the mental health system.

CON professor Nicole Garritano to lead Feb. 11 workshop on how to teach with iPads

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 5, 2020) — The Smart Campus Initiative, along with the Center for Enhanced Learning and Teaching, will host a series of talks by University of Kentucky faculty who have integrated iPads into their teaching.  The speakers will discuss what they have done to re-envision their courses and assignments; talk through ideas that did and didn’t work; and provide insight as to how they navigated challenges along the way.

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Distinguished University of Kentucky College of Nursing alum Marsha Hughes-Rease delivered an impactful lecture on "The Power of Choice" to a large crowd of nursing clinicians, faculty and students yesterday at the UK Chandler Hospital Karpf Auditorium.

Nursing Leadership Lecture Series: Trisha Khaleghi, CEO of Sharp Specialty Hospitals

Trisha Khaleghi, MSN, RN, FACHE, CEO of Sharp Specialty Hospitals and alum of the College of Nursing, delivered her presentation, "Addressing Workplace Violence: Nursing Leadership in Action" as part of the Nursing Leadership Lecture Series on Thursday, September 5.

UK College of Nursing and UK HealthCare to Host Nursing Leadership Lecture Series

  The UK College of Nursing and UK HealthCare will host the fourth annual Nursing Leadership Lecture Series, featuring three prestigious nurse leaders who will examine leadership practices in an evolving health care environment. “This is a pivotal opportunity for our community to help cultivate and prepare nurse leaders,” says Janie Heath, PhD, APRN-BC, FAAN, FNAP, FAANP, dean of the UK College of Nursing. “We are honored to welcome each speaker and to learn from her expertise in the field.”

  Early registration for the 2019 RICH Writing Institute at the UK Gatton Student Center has been extended until June 30th.
