In addition to supporting the conduct of traditional research, the College supports faculty participation in the scholarship of practice. These activities focus on priorities such as:
- Facilitating transitions of nursing graduates into new practice roles
- Quality- or process-improvement activities
- The development of nursing expertise in targeted areas
- Program or outcome evaluations
- Evidence-based practice
Many of our nurse faculty members also engage in practice scholarship through leadership roles in local and national nursing (or health-related) organizations such as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Heart Association, American Public Health Association and Sigma Theta Tau International.
