Student, Alum Advocate for Diversifying the Nursing Workforce in Washington, D.C.
Corinna Hughes, DNP student and representative for local chapter of the National Black Nurses Association, joined Delanor Manson, BSN alum and executive director for the Kentucky Nurses Association and KNA Foundation, at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Minority Health (OMH) and the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action for a Fall 2019 Diversifying the Nursing Workforce: Mentoring for Student Retention and NCLEX Success at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) Workshop. This two-day mentor training workshop was part of the White House Initiative on HBCUs’ annual National HBCU Week Conference in Washington, D.C., and took place September 9-10, 2019.
