Meet Student Ambassadors Virtual Panel

REGISTER HERE During this session, you'll hear from current nursing students in the College's Traditional BSN Track.  The Student Ambassadors will hold a panel discussion and answer questions on various nursing school topics including choosing a nursing program, clinical and lab experiences, college life, study tips, and professional development.  Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the virtual event.  

UK, Asbury University announce nursing education partnership

WILMORE, Ky. (Jan. 11, 2024) — Asbury University and the University of Kentucky College of Nursing are pleased to announce a dual enrollment agreement for students to complete both an Asbury bachelor’s degree and, after transferring to UK with preferred admission to the UK College of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in under five years, meeting a direct need for highly qualified nurses in the state of Kentucky and beyond.

Stephanie Fugate, MSN, APRN-BC, has been awarded a $600,000 grant from the Helene Fuld Health Trust to fund scholarships for College of Nursing accelerated BSN students.

    *Please note: Effective January 2019, the Second Degree/MedVet Options will have a change in schedule. The new schedule will only start in January and will include summer sessions allowing students to complete all courses in 24 months consecutively. As a result of this change, there will be only one admission deadline – August 15 to start in January. Fall semester admissions end with the 2017 semester. New Synthesis (NUR 413) Option Available for Senior BSN Students

  The College of Nursing is pleased to announce its new partnership with St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, in which four senior BSN students will have the opportunity to complete NUR 413 - Synthesis of Clinical Knowledge for Nursing Practice.

Bosnia to BSN: Elvisa Muratovic

By Tassy Taylor After fleeing the hardships of the Bosnian War (1992-1995), Elvisa Muratovic’s family settled in Bowling Green, Kentucky, looking for a better life. Muratovic, BSN, RN, was six years old. “I was born in the middle of the conflict. My grandpa fought for the Bosnians,” she says. Growing up, the Muratovic family was fortunate enough to stay together. After seeking refuge in the United States, Elvisa Muratovic was the first of her family to learn English. Her love for nursing naturally came to light soon after.

Senior BSN Student Amelia Metz Presents Project at Posters at the Capitol

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 12, 2018) — The University of Kentucky was represented by 16 undergraduate students and their 14 research projects at the 17th annual Posters-at-the-Capitol event last week at the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort. Posters-at-the-Capitol is an annual event that showcases undergraduate researchers representing colleges and universities throughout Kentucky. The annual collaborative event was created to educate Kentucky state legislators of the importance of undergraduate research and scholarly work.
