The University of Kentucky College of Nursing (CON) in alignment with the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes 2020 as the "Year of the Nurse."

Throughout the entire year, the College of Nursing will be elevating and celebrating the essential, robust contributions of nurses and the college's students, faculty and alumni.

The World Health Assembly, the governing body of the World Health Organization, declared 2020 the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. The celebration offers a platform to recognize past and present nurse leaders globally, raise the visibility of the nursing profession in policy dialogue and invest in the development and increased capacity of the nursing workforce.

Join in the conversation and show your support for nurses both locally and globally by using the hashtag #YearOfTheNurse or #YON2020.
