College of Nursing Professor Appointed Baptist Health Lexington Healthservices Leadership Scholar
Professor Nora Warshawsky, PhD, RN, CNE, has been appointed the inaugural Baptist Health Lexington Healthservices Leadership Scholar.
Baptist Health Lexington has a long tradition of excellent nursing and patient care. And as a national Magnet organization, it has been recognized for its commitment to nursing leadership development and research.
Dr. Warshawsky will be helping to provide leadership with a research project focused on the identification of competencies among the Baptist Health Lexington organization leaders (department directors and executives) and the development of a leadership development curriculum (the Evolving Leader Program).
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of Baptist Health Lexington Karen Hill, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, FAAN, launched the leadership research project in 2001 with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellowship program. The project focuses on the identification of competencies among the organization’s leaders (department directors and vie presidents) and the development of a leadership development curriculum (Evolving Leader Program).
“We, as nurse leaders and researchers, have a moral responsibility to uphold the integrity of our profession and field,” said Dr. Heath, dean of the College of Nursing and Warwick professor of nursing. “I admire Dr. Warshawsky for ensuring the competency of our leaders in healthcare organizations, and therefore the success of those who follow.”
