Ninety students received their BSNs and received their nursing pins, which represent their readiness to enter the noblest profession. Of our 90 BSN graduates, 55 graduated with honors.

After passing the NCLEX the BSN graduates will join more than 3.2 million nurses who are working at the nexus of art and science; the art of managing the care of a multitude of individuals from a host of backgrounds applying competent and compassionate care which will enable so many to live longer, stronger, and healthier lives.

28 were hooded at the highest possible level with doctoral degrees in clinical practice (DNP) and research (PhD), and are now prepared to improve health care delivery, promote nursing excellence, revolutionize health care and promote the highest levels of wellness through teaching, research and evidence-based clinical practice.

“As providers, leaders, researchers and policy leaders we must ‘lean forward’ with authority, and go beyond the usual ‘day job’ of performance and become engaged with shared leadership to help make decisions regarding standards of practice,” said Dr. Janie Heath, Dean and Warwick Professor. “The empowered nurse of the future must be armed well with confidence, communication skills and knowledge to make the very best nursing decisions. Then and only then will collaborative practice with other health care providers be accepted, and with that, managing the business of health care will have more nurse leaders moving  those efforts forward.”

Congratulations to all of our students for their commitment to nursing, for challenges conquered, for projects completed, for goals reached and surpassed!
