Sheila Melander, PhD, ACNP-BC, FCCM, FAANP, FAAN, Associate Dean MSN, DNP, and Faculty Practice at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, has been elected by her peers to a new leadership position in the American Academy of Nursing.  Dr. Melander will serve on the Academy’s Fellow Selection Committee, for a term starting after the end of the Academy’s health policy conference.  Members of the committee disseminate information to potential candidates and sponsors regarding procedure and qualifications; review applications and select new fellows in accordance with the Academy bylaws; and review the application forms, selection criteria, and selection procedures and recommend changes to the board of directors.
