Nursing students participate in record-breaking DanceBlue 2020

On March 1, UK College of Nursing's students were proud to join more than 900 fellow UK students to participate in DanceBlue 2020. In total, this year DanceBlue raised a record-breaking $2,000,190.20 for cancer research.  

UK CON's DanceBlue team did their part by raising $8,650.64 for this special cause.  CON Dance Blue team captain Makenzie Ward was also recognized as a Top 10 individual fundraiser among the more than 900 student participants for raising $1,700.  

"The College of Nursing is so proud of Makenzie Ward and our entire DanceBlue team for their outstanding efforts in leadership and philanthropy outside of the classroom," said CON Dean Janie Heath. "This effort is yet another amazing example of our students' compassion and commitment toward helping others."    

DanceBlue is UK's largest student-run philanthropy — a fundraising effort involving thousands of UK students, culminating in a 24-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. All of the money raised by DanceBlue goes to the Golden Matrix Fund and cancer research.
