Undergraduate Student Represents UK College of Nursing for APNA
UK College of Nursing undergraduate student Sarret Seng was recently featured in a newsletter from the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
She was also recently named one of thirty American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Board of Directors Student Scholars.
Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, Mrs. Seng came to Lexington and is currently in University of Kentucky’s Second-Career BSN program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University of Long Beach where she was the Outstanding Graduate for the College of Liberal Arts. Her interest in mental health nursing began with an interest in neuroscience, particularly in the physiology underlying neurological diseases and disorders.
Through clinical and research internships in addiction and psychiatric disorders, she discovered a passion for research that serves as a foundation for developing evidence-based treatments; she ultimately plans to become a mental-health nurse practitioner so that she may both provide compassionate care directly to patients and to contribute towards generating new knowledge in the field.
