College of Nursing and UK Healthcare Cited for Exemplary Workforce Partnership

The American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) will release a compendium of best practices in the fall of 2022 related to workforce and innovations.  One focus area includes academic-clinical partnerships and the relationship between the UK College of Nursing and UK HealthCare was cited as a “prime example of the scenarios AONL is seeking.” 

New Dean Getting Ready for Big Blue Nursing Nation – Arrives November 14th!

  LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 14, 2022) — Rosalie Mainous, a Lexington native and University of Kentucky doctoral graduate, has been named the sixth dean of the UK College of Nursing. Upon approval from the Board of Trustees, Mainous will join UK on Nov. 14, 2022. 

UK-CARES awarded grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)

UK-CARES (E. Hahn, PI) has received a 12-month, $229,500 award from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).  The grant is a cost extension to the UK-CARES Environmental Health Sciences Core Center to continue to build the research infrastructure and community-academic partnerships to advance environmental health science at UK.

Nursing to be part of new, interdisciplinary UK Health Education Building

  In April 2022, the University of Kentucky announced a commitment to build a new Health Education Building that will aid in the University's mission to train health professionals who will advance the well-being of the Commonwealth and beyond. The new building project is a collaboration among four health care colleges – Medicine, Public Health, Health Sciences and Nursing.
