  The UK College of Nursing and UK HealthCare will host the fourth annual Nursing Leadership Lecture Series, featuring three prestigious nurse leaders who will examine leadership practices in an evolving health care environment. “This is a pivotal opportunity for our community to help cultivate and prepare nurse leaders,” says Janie Heath, PhD, APRN-BC, FAAN, FNAP, FAANP, dean of the UK College of Nursing. “We are honored to welcome each speaker and to learn from her expertise in the field.”

College of Nursing Students Participate in Shoulder to Shoulder Brigade in Ecuador

For the 11th year, University of Kentucky College of Nursing students traveled to Santo Domingo, Ecuador, through Shoulder to Shoulder Global (STSG), an official campus organization celebrating ten years of engaging academic and community partners in improving the health and well-being of impoverished and underserved communities. RICH Heart Program Hosts Third Annual Writing Institute

Evelyn Parrish, PhD, PMHNP-BC, FAANP, associate professor and director of Accreditation & Strategic Outcomes for the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, was recognized by the International Academy of Nursing Editors (INANE) for being the editor of Perspectives in Psychiatric Care - one of seven journals inducted into the Nursing Journal Hall of Fame.

Dr. Lovoria Williams Named Nurse Researcher of the Year by National Black Nurses Association

Lovoria Williams, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, was named Nurse Researcher of the Year by the National Black Nurses Association at the 47th Annual Conference in New Orleans on Saturday, July 27. The award represents her work to deliver community-based interventions that reduce health disparities among minority and medically-underserved populations by increasing tobacco cessation and cancer screening behaviors and reducing obesity and diabetes.
