Primarily, as a healthy young woman giving birth to a healthy baby, why had she been treated throughout her stay as though she were unwell? “I felt like I was a heart patient, with all the rules applicable to a sick person,” says Dr. Dekker, who conducts cardiovascular research nursing at the University of Kentucky’s College of Nursing.

But adapting to a low-sodium diet requires more than just laying off the table salt. Sodium is hidden in a number of household food products, such as canned soups, frozen pizza and white bread.

Pinning Speech, BSN Class of December 2014 By Hinal Gandhi, BSN Good morning family, friends, faculty, honored guests, and welcome to the University of Kentucky College of Nursing Class of December 2014’s pinning ceremony. Well class, we’ve come to the end of our long shift at UK CON, and if there’s anything a good nurse knows the value of, it’s charting/documenting. So let’s document the last three years of our lives. Don’t worry; I’ll keep this speech short … just like our lectures.
