Nursing Peer Mentors in Interprofessional Healthcare Residential College Welcome Students Back to Campus

Join the Perinatal Research and Wellness Center March for Babies Team Today

  Few life events are more joyful than the birth of a child. Yet, no one anticipates a baby born prematurely or very sick and needing to spend time in a newborn intensive care unit. Sadly, for hundreds of thousands of moms in our country, that is the frightening reality. That’s why the UK College of Nursing Perinatal Research Center Team is raising money for March for Babies® to help the March of Dimes fund lifesaving research and programs that help more moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.

College of Nursing Student Scholarship Showcase, Center for Clinical and Translational Science Conference Focuses on Moving Discoveries to New Interventions for Health

  The 12th Annual Spring Conference of the University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) was held March 30 in Lexington with more than 800 researchers, clinicians, students and partners convening to discuss the theme of "Clinical Trial Networks and Team Science: Moving Discoveries to Interventions." Students and faculty from the College of Nursing presented seven oral and 17 poster presentations, a record number of participation for the College.

National Cancer Prevention Day with Less Cancer

  UK College of Nursing Dean and Warwick Professor of Nursing Janie Heath, PhD, APRN-BC, FAAN, traveled to Washington D.C. on Thursday, Feb. 2 for National Cancer Prevention Day where she participated in discussions, lectures and a town hall meeting and spoke on behalf of Less Cancer–the campaign that works to keep prevention in the forefront of the cancer conversation. 

Radon Awareness Action Month

    January is Radon Action Month. Have you ever had your home's radon gas levels tested? Ellen Hahn, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing and Director of the Bridging Research Efforts and Advocacy Toward Health Environments) Program, stopped by WMMT to speak with host Kelli Haywood about the dangers of radon gas in your home and what you can do to limit your risk. UK College of Nursing, UK HealthCare Host 26th Annual Nursing Research Papers Day

  UK HealthCare and the UK College of Nursing showcased the work of nurses and students at the 26th annual Nursing Research Papers Day at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa on Nov. 11, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.  This year, nationally known nurse scientist Cheryl Tatano Beck, DNSC, CNM, FAAN, served as the keynote speaker and presented “Post Traumatic Growth in Clinicians: Positive Aspects of Clinicians Who Experience Secondary Traumatic Stress.”  Download the agenda here.
