The UK College of Nursing’s Office of Continuing Education will host its inaugural Nurse Executive and Leadership Review on March 9-10 in the Charles T. Wethington Building rm 127. This two-day course will feature expert nurse leaders from UK and across the nation who will review essential principals and strategies of leadership to promote self-confidence in the current health care system.

College of Nursing PhD student Andrew Bugajski received the Fellowship in Nursing Research from Baptist Health to advance its effort in creating a team of young PhD students interested in conducting research. Bugajski, a 23 year-old from Cincinnati, received his BSN from the UK College of Nursing in December of 2014 and currently works in the Medicine West ICU at UK while working toward his PhD in nursing.

Undergraduate research interns and their mentors at the College of Nursing participated in the first ever research presentations given in an effort to spread knowledge of their findings and advance the nursing practice on Oct. 21 and Nov. 18. “These presentations facilitate the dissemination of research findings by the undergraduate research interns as beginning scientists to peers and future colleagues and provide a venue for them to discuss the implications of the findings for improving healthcare and health outcomes,” said Associate Professor Gia Mudd-Martin, RN, MPH, PhD.
