The University of Kentucky College of Nursing offers an innovative, flexible 100 percent online RN-BSN degree program for Registered Nurses who have an associate degree or diploma in nursing.

Enhance your expertise and develop the skills to provide patient-centered care in multiple settings. Learn from our faculty, who are clinical experts, and develop your existing experience to address a full-range of healthcare issues.

RN-BSN Program Highlights

Graduation Requirements

  • Students must earn 120 credit hours; 30 of the last 36 hours must be taken at UK

  • 40 clinical hours (may be completed locally, does not have to be completed in Lexington)

  • Eight required courses; two electives
    • Required courses: PathoPharm I, Professional Communication in Nursing, Health Assessment, Evidence Based Practice, Integrative Concepts, Population Health, Leadership & Management, Capstone
    • Available electives: Addiction Is a Chronic Disorder, Fundamentals of Occupational & Environmental Health in Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, Health Science Leadership, Healthcare Topics in the U.S, Nurse Residency course, Pathopharmacology II, Rural & Appalachian Health.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky Board of Nursing certifies that the University of Kentucky Baccalaureate Degree Program has met the requirements established by law and the Kentucky Board of Nursing. This full-approval confers the right to operate a nursing program in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in accordance with the provisions of the Kentucky Revised Statutes Chapter 314.
