With Support from Her College, Nursing Student Finds Her Passion

  Like many students who start at the University of Kentucky, Danielle Duncan didn’t know exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up. She tried a few paths; she started down a major in public health before applying to the UK College of Nursing, but even then, she still had doubts. “I really thought I chose the wrong major,” Duncan said. “I thought, maybe this isn’t what I want to do.”

  When University of Kentucky faculty were tasked with taking their classroom teaching online, the College of Nursing's Jennifer Cowley was faced with the prospect of having to scrap her plan for guest speakers for her Career Management course. UK Nursing honors December 2020 Graduates with first-ever 'Park & Pin' ceremony

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing celebrated its 80th BSN graduating class with it's first-ever Park & Pin ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at Kroger Field's Blue Lot.  The Park & Pin event took place in lieu of a traditional in-person Pinning ceremony in order to maintain safe and healthy physical distancing standards.

Dr. Zim Okoli receives Kentucky Nurse Researcher of the Year award

  The University of Kentucky College of Nursing's Zim Okoli, PhD, MPH, MSN, RN, NCTTP, was recently awarded Outstanding Nurse Researcher of the Year for 2020 by the Kentucky Nurses Association.

UK Nursing Faculty Named Assistant Director for Cancer Health Equity at Markey

  The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center has appointed Lovoria Williams, Ph.D., as assistant director for cancer health equity, a newly created position within the Markey leadership structure.
