Spring 2017 Hooding, Pinning Ceremonies

    Pinning Ceremony The College of Nursing will have its annual Pinning Ceremony for the seventy-third baccalaureate graduating class on Friday, May 5 from 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at the Singletary Center for the Arts. Hooding Ceremony The Hooding Ceremony will immediately follow at the Singletary Center for the Arts at 10:30 a.m. For any questions, please contact Michael Hendrix at mwhend2@uky.edu.

Honor Society of Nursing Inducts Record Number of College of Nursing Students at 40th Annual Ceremony

  The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Delta Psi Chapter inducted a record number of students from the UK College of Nursing at the 40th annual induction ceremony and brunch reception on Sunday, April 23. Eighty-nine students from the College were inducted, including 21 doctoral students, five RN-BSN students and 63 traditional or second degree students.

College Instructor Stephanie Fugate Receives UK Provost Award for Excellence in Teaching

  The University of Kentucky recognized exceptional faculty and teaching assistants at the Outstanding Teaching Awards at the 2017 University of Kentucky Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 25, in Woodward Hall of the Gatton College of Business and Economics building. Recipients of the inaugural Inclusive Excellence Awards, in partnership with the Office for Institutional Diversity were also recognized.

College of Nursing Senior Administrator to Retire

It is bitter sweet to announce that after more than 18 years at the University of Kentucky’s College of Nursing, Dr. Patricia Burkhart – Associate Dean of Undergraduate Faculty Affairs and pediatric nurse for 45 years, will be retiring June 30th, 2017. 

College Holds Private Pinning Ceremony Before Student’s Husband Deployed Overseas

  Nearly one week before the College of Nursing pinning ceremony, senior nursing student Molly Morris’s husband, Corporal Lee Morris, will be deployed overseas with his Marine Reserve Unit. Designated as Molly’s pinner, Corporal Morris was able to pin his wife before his deployment surrounded by fellow students, faculty, and staff, as well as family and friends at a private Pinning Ceremony held by the College.
