In honor of Veterans Day, the UK College of Nursing recognizes a student who’s not only served in the Air Force, but who’s goal after graduation is to aid fighters and veterans. Originally from Las Vegas, NV, Kyle Herzberg served for eight years in the Air Force as a Russian cryptological language analyst and is currently in the College’s Accelerated BSN program.
The University of Kentucky College of Nursing's Office Nursing Research has released it's annual report, touting the College's $36.2 million in active funding for FY21. Ben Hughes, BSN, RN, is one of a handful of UK HealthCare professionals who manages a full-time job and family responsibilities while also pursuing his DNP Executive Leadership degree at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing.

Maggie Nosek, senior BSN student and U.S. Army ROTC cadet, knew she wanted to become a nurse after experiencing a collapsed lung and the subsequent partial removal of her lung prior to college.

Moderna’s KidCOVE trial is currently underway to test the dosage and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 6 months through 11 years old. The University of Kentucky is one of the 90 sites in the U.S. participating in the study, with 200 children from across the Commonwealth enrolled.
We, as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) and health care providers, would like to increase access to health care for all residents of the Commonwealth. There are over 9,000 Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN’s) who are nurse practitioners and nurse midwives licensed in the state of Kentucky. APRN’s provide primary care, specialty care and hospital care to thousands of Kentuckians daily. And we do it very well.
Following in her mother's footsteps, Kaylee Fitzgerald knows that a career in nursing is rewarding because she grew up seeing how nurses impact healthcare. Kaylee is a sophomore nursing student in the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. She is also a student ambassador.
