Nursing Student Ends up in Foreigner Video Through Shriners Hospital

Dr. Lori Fugate Joins Wilmore Clinic Team

Lori Fugate, DNP, APRN, NP-C, WHNP-BC, MSN, RN, assistant professor, was fully credentialed at the UK HealthCare Medical Staff Operations Subcomittee meeting to practice at the Phyllis D. Corbitt Community Health Center in Wilmore, Kentucky. Currently, 43 percent of the college's full-time faculty are credentialed to practice at UK HealthCare or elsewhere in the community. Of those faculty, 71% are fully credentialed at UK HealthCare.

Student Leaders Join Faculty for KNA Advocacy Day

  On Feb. 6, undergraduate student leaders joined faculty members Drs. Hartley Feld, Julie Ossege, Ellen Hahn and Julie Marfell for the Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) Advocacy Day in Frankfort. The day started with a talk by KNA lobbyist Dr. Sheila Schuster, followed by remarks from Delanor Mason, KNA Executive Director and KNA President Dr. Ruth Carrico.

Dr. Carol Thompson Named Master of Critical Care Medicine in Society of Critical Care Medicine

  University of Kentucky (UK) College of Nursing Professor and Assistant Dean of MSN and DNP Program Studies Carol Thompson, PhD, DNP, RN, CCRN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, FCCM, FAANP, FAAN, was designated a Master of Critical Care Medicine (MCCM) by the Council of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) at the SCCM 48th Critical Care Congress in San Diego, Calif., February 18.
