Five Students Receive Awards from the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives

  Five College of Nursing Students were honored at the Graduate Students of Color Professional Development Colloquium: Nourishing Roots and Growing Branches hosted by the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives (CGD) on Friday, March 31 in the Woodward Hall of the Gatton College of Business and Economics Building. New Synthesis (NUR 413) Option Available for Senior BSN Students

  The College of Nursing is pleased to announce its new partnership with St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, in which four senior BSN students will have the opportunity to complete NUR 413 - Synthesis of Clinical Knowledge for Nursing Practice.

Assistant Dean of PhD Program & Scholarly Affairs Receives University's Sarah Bennett Holmes Award

  Debra Moser, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN, professor, Linda C. Gill Endowed Chair of Nursing and assistant dean of the PhD Program & Scholarly Affairs, was awarded the 2018 Sarah Bennett Holmes Award, one of UK's most prestigious awards for women, on March 28 at the 25th annual awards luncheon. 

BSN & DNP Students Join Dean Heath at Annual AACN Health Policy Summit on Capitol Hill

UK College of Nursing BSN student Alli Overfield and DNP student Eva Stone joined Dr. Janie Heath, dean and Warwick Professor of Nursing, at the annual American Association of Colleges of Nursing Health Policy Summit on Capitol Hill, March 25-27. They joined other Kentucky deans and students to advocate for funding for nursing education and research to impact health and wellness in vulnerable populations.

  College of Nursing students and faculty participated in the 32nd annual Southern Nursing Research Society Conference, "Expanding Nursing Science in Population and Global Health" in Atlanta, Georgia, March 21-24.

PhD Student Selected for National Leadership Program to Build Health Equity

With the intention of diversifying the next generations of leaders and ensuring equity in policies, Health Policy Research Scholars has selected a group of PhD students from across the country to be part of its second cohort.

The College of Nursing's BREATHE team will participate in the 17th World Conference on Tobacco or Health (WCTOH) through a televised program about their major tobacco control and health activities with research, community engagement and empowerment, advocacy at the local and state levels and access to health services.

DNP Student Succeeds in Global Health Case Competition for Third Consecutive Year

  UK College of Nursing DNP student Joy Coles, MBA, BSN, RN, recently placed second on her interdisciplinary team for the fourth annual Global Health Case Competition (GHCC). The competition, hosted by the UK International Center Global Health Initiative, encompassed both graduate and undergraduate students in 12 teams to address and propose solutions to real global health issues.
